Courage

Courage has lived in the United States for 5 years.  His family moved here from Liberia in Africa.  Courage lives with him mom Ruebina and little brother Akim.  Courage is very involved in school activities, church and scouts.  He is a member of his schools lacrosse, track and football teams and is a captain on his football and lacrosse teams. Courage is his Teachers Quorum President and is the Senior Patrol leader in Boy Scouts.  He's an amazing role model to those around him.  He reads his scriptures every day, often teaches with the
missionaries and works hard to make life better for all those around him.  Next year Courage will be attending Preparatory Charter High School which selects students with excellent scholastic records and is looking forward to and preparing for a full time mission.

Madia

Madia is an 18 year old young woman who joined the church with her family when she was 11. She is originally from Liberia, and lives with her parents, siblings and her uncle. She loves to play sports and was quite the track and volleyball superstar at her middle school. Madia served as our Beehive president and dutifully attended her meetings, showing concern for her fellow young women. Like many of our young women, her parents work many Sundays, which makes it difficult to get herself to church. She often babysits her younger sisters to help her family. She is a good student and works hard to get good grades. Madia has completed much of her Personal Progress and continues to work on it.

Alexia

Alexia is another of our solid Laurels. She is now 18 and will graduate from High School this year.  She lives with her mother and three brothers, whom Alexia is often responsible for watching. She is an immensely spirited young woman, with a friendly, cheerful and loving personality. Alexia served as our Mia Maid president and enthusiastically attends her meetings. She is always willing to conduct on Sundays and help the leaders in any way. The gospel means the world to her, and she is a great example to her friends as she upholds her high standards. She loved meeting other young people with high morals who share her same beliefs.  This year will be Alexia's last opportunity to attend EFY!

Crystal

Crystal is a spunky 18 year old young woman who joined the church with her mother several years ago. In recent years her mother’s health has deteriorated severely and she’s spent a lot of time in the hospital. Crystal takes public transportation to get to church and brings her little sister Maureen with her. She is a regular at the mid-week activities but on occasion has given that time up to help watch her little sister or care for her mother. Crystal served as the Mia Maid second counselor until she moved up to Laurels. She has a strong testimony and asks very good questions as she tries to understand the gospel.

Jonathan

Jonathan is awesome.  He is very intrinsically motivated and always works hard.  Jonathan loved EFY and is really excited to be able to attend again this year!
